First Letter Home

Peter sent out his first e-mail from the MTC and we were excited to hear all about how he's settling in to missionary life.  Here are some excerpts from his letter home:

Hey family!

So I am doing good!  It feels like i've been out here for a lot longer than i have been. Im learning a ton of portuguese, I already know how to say a prayer and how to bare my testimony. I'm on chapter 2 of first Nephi for the portuguese BoM.  It took me and my companion an hour and a half reading it all out loud, but we got through it.

My companion is Elder Burkett, he's from Pennsylvania. We're on our newbie Pday where all of the new Elders and Sisters have a half pday on Saturday. When this week is over our next pday will be on a friday, so expect letters and mainly emails on fridays.

I have two teachers Irma Slater e Irma Williamson or something.  Im not too sure of that last guys last name, we've only seen him for an hour on our first day, but Irma Slater is super cool.  He served in Portugal and speaks to us only in portuguese so we could never understand him til yesterday, til it started to click.

Just know that im doing good, and that the gift of tongues is real.  Idk how im able to learn this much in so little time without that being true.  Love you guys, thanks for the prayers.

Love, Elder Williams
